Five Star Stone, Corp. is a stone products distributor/wholesaler based out of Gainesville, GA. They supply the entire southeastern
United States with stone products manufactured by Eldorado Stone Corporation. Their organization was presented with a golden
opportunity - they were offered the exclusive distribution rights for Eldorado products in the entire southeast. However, their
existing infrastructure was inadequate and would not allow them to scale up to meet the anticipated demand. They had no electronic
records of transactions, no tracking system to keep inventory, no formal history of orders, or methods of keeping customer information.
Most telling, they were severely dependant on the ability of key personnel to keep vital information about the operation of their
business memorized. This was working fine for them given their then current volume of business and number of customers, but they were
looking to multiply their customer base and sales volume by orders of magnitude and sought out a software solution that would meet
their needs and expand and evolve with their business.
They decided on iNNOV's Liquid Commerce platform as the foundation for their new operations management system. They chose it based upon
its customizable, abundant features and excellent architecture. Most of all they liked that it was web-based, could encode several of
their business processes, and had the capacity to grow with the needs of their expanding company. The system we developed had to be custom
tailored to their specific needs since there was no readily available software product that could encode the processes of their particular
business. The philosophy of this project was that the software should meet the needs of the business - the business should not have to be
heavily modified to meet the needs of any commercially available software product.
